Care home worker organising photography exhibition for charity

A care home worker is organising a photography exhibition to raise money for a charity that supports people living with a disability or a mental health condition. Reji Joseph will host the event at Barchester Healthcare's Middletown Grange Care Home in Hailey, near Witney. where he works as a home administrator. The exhibition, running from August 27 to September 7, will feature 125 original photographs, all available for purchase, with proceeds supporting Barchester's Charitable Foundation. One of Reji Joseph's photos (Image: Reji Joseph) Mr Joseph said: "This August and September, we are planning a wildlife photography exhibition and sale at Middletown Grange, with all profits going to the Barchester Foundation. "I would be thrilled if my photography could help raise funds for a cause I deeply care about and for the organisation I proudly work with. "To me, nature is one of the most beautiful gifts we have and capturing it through a lens is my way of appreciating and sharing it." Barchester's Charitable Foundation helps older people and other adults with disabilities or mental health needs to connect with their communities. Growing up around nature, he developed a deep passion for the outdoors from a very young age, and his love of photography followed soon after, starting with landscapes before evolving into wildlife. Some of his favourite photography locations include Slimbridge for birds, Skomer Island for puffins, and Bempton Cliffs, where he once captured a rare black-browed albatross. He also continues to photograph wildlife during visits to India, but this is the first time he has held an exhibition or put his work up for sale. One of Reji Joseph's photos (Image: Reji Joseph) Mirela Ghiuvea, general manager at Middletown Grange, said: "We are all so proud of Reji, we know how caring he is and how much he wants to help others through his talent. "It is a wonderful thing he is doing to raise funds to help vulnerable people combat loneliness and connect with their local communities, everyone at the home is fully behind him. "After the photographs have been on display at our home, we're going to tour them around our other sister Barchester homes in the area so that as many people as possible get to appreciate their beauty." Barchester Healthcare is one of the UK's largest care providers, delivering a wide range of services for a variety of needs, and supporting more than 13,500 residents across 267 homes and hospitals for short breaks to long term stays.
